The storming lead single “REAL FOR ME,” a piledriving dance number with the catchiest chorus you will ever hear. However, the album isn’t really just singles’n’filler; it actually is well sequenced and fairly balanced, much like Nelly’s’ Country Grammar or Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP album. Like those records, 100 Stories pulls away from the standard harder street beats, strengthening it with well-crafted pop tunes, R&B with some grit, and hip-hop tunes. Nobody is going to mistake this for Plies, Rick Ross, or The Game — it’s still lightweight adult pop. Yet, it’s very good adult pop, managing to not only work well within its limitations, but to push it slightly while retaining its breezy, hooky identity.
